Stand in Awe of God: Our Helper

When a truth is repeated often in the Bible, it makes me think that God wants us to really get it. Many verses in Scripture tell us that God is our Helper. He does not leave us to fend for ourselves. When someone joins God's family through faith in Christ, he or she is not alone. God is with His children, and He helps them. He knows how weak we are and that we need Him.

Unfortunately, we often go it alone, which doesn't get us very far. Our loving Father wants us to understand that we need His help. We usually figure this out over time, and some of us may need to be reminded.

So, here's an idea: Ask the Lord each day for His help, His provision, His wisdom. He never wearies of our asking Him ... in fact, I think it makes Him really happy! Do you need God's help? Just ask and watch Him work!

Psalm 121

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
