Texas Panhandle Chapter
The first CEF chapter established in West Texas was the Amarillo Chapter — now the Texas Panhandle Chapter. In 1938 when CEF’s founder Jesse Irvin Overholtzer was traveling from California to Chicago, he made a stop in Amarillo, Texas. On a Sunday morning, he spoke to the people of Amarillo Bible Church about the new ministry for children the Lord had put on his heart- Child Evangelism Fellowship®. They caught the vision of reaching out to unchurched children who need to hear about Jesus and began organizing a CEF chapter. The percentage of unchurched children in the U.S. has more than doubled in the last hundred years. The Panhandle Chapter continues to carry the vision of taking the Gospel to every child where they are!
The Panhandle Chapter has an office in Olsen Plaza on S. Western Street in Amarillo. Staff members include:
