The Rio Grande serves the following counties:
After several years without a CEF chapter in El Paso, we were very excited and thankful when the Lord provided staff and a local committee to establish the Rio Grande Chapter in January 2015.
Today there are Good News Clubs in 10 public schools -- on Ft. Bliss
and around El Paso. Our vision is to be in all 200 schools
in El Paso County.
Partners in Reaching Children with the Gospel
We work with local churches to reach the children and look forward to developing partnerships with churches all over El Paso and nearby counties.
It is a blessing to seeing the body of Christ in action, teaching the children from God's Word and leading them to the Savior!
Will you join us?
Please call our Local Coordinator, Vicki Johnston, for information
on how to be part of what God is doing through
the CEFWTX chapter in El Paso and the Rio Grande area.

Rio Grande Chapter Staff
When I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a missionary. I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was in the second grade while attending a Christian School in California. I know that day changed my life for all eternity! God has taken me on an incredible journey of faith as He has allowed me to serve in ministries to children, teenagers, and adults. About 20 years ago I was introduced to Child Evangelism Fellowship, while living in Florida and went through their training on how to start a Good News Club. The training changed the way I would evangelize, and I was excited to put that training into practice. I started a Good News Club at my house and still remember the joy that the children had after hearing the Bible lessons and many responding to the invitation!
Now, 20 years later God has brought my husband and me to El Paso where I learned that there was an opportunity to reach the boys and girls with the Gospel through Good News Clubs! Never did I realize when God moved us to El Paso I was going to be working once again with CEF. We have a lot of work to do but then again, my journey of faith is not over!
Good News Club Ministry Coordinator
As a public school teacher, I saw the need that my students had to know that they have a Savior who loves them and wants to be a part of their lives. I wanted to bring the Good News of Jesus to my students but, I did not know how it could be accomplished. This led me on a search that happily brought me to Child Evangelism Fellowship’s Good News Club Ministry. It was not long after this that a Good News Club was established at my school and many children were coming to know Christ as their Savior. I was blessed to not only witness what God was doing in these children's lives but also, to become a part of the ministry as a Good News Club Coordinator. I am excited to see what the Lord is doing and will continue to do through Good News Clubs throughout El Paso and around the world.
As a young girl, growing up in a Christian household, I believed every single child around me also loved Jesus and had God-fearing parents. It was not until I grew a bit more mature that I realized that was not the case in every home. Ever since then, I have made it my goal to try to share the gospel with as many people around me, no matter their age. After all, I was a child when I started my walk with Christ.
It has not been easy, since today’s society tries to tell us that the Word of God is outdated and one should follow their own desires. I am a strong believer that God has led me to CEF to share the gospel with children, so we can create an impact for our future generations through a strong foundation in Christ.
